The Long Tom Scootours trip includes 2 exciting downhill runs through open grasslands, indigenous forests and pine plantations. Misty Mountain introduces 2 unique, adventure tourism activities on site. The Long Tom Toboggan is designed and built on the principles of the tried and tested European model known as an “alpine coaster” or “sommerrodelbahn”. A 1,7km monorail track, winding and whooshing
around the mountains in the Long Tom Pass. Reach top speeds of around 45 kms/hour and experience an adrenalin rush like never before. The Long Tom Scootours is a sensational 5 kilometre experience of downhill runs in the mountainous terrain of the Long Tom Pass. Staring at an altitude of 1765 m and descending some 250 m on a Monster Mountain Scooter, single tracking through open grasslands, patches of indigenous forest and vast pine plantations. The non-motorized, Swiss-designed scooters are used in the Alps during the Summer season on the ski slopes when there is no snow. Terms and Conditions: Long Tom Toboggan:
Activity undertaken entirely at own risk. Shoes must be worn. Minimum age +/- 7 years. Depends on height and strength of child and their ability to manage the brake lever. Maximum weight 120 kgs. Riders must be able to have full access to and control of the brake lever. Guests that have been drinking alcohol or are intoxicated are not permitted to ride. No drinks may be taken in the vehicle to the start of the Toboggan ride. No flowing clothes/scarves to be worn. No hand-held recording devices (eg. Cell phones). Only head/harness mounted devices will be allowed. We advise against pregnant women doing the Toboggan ride. Our safety rules permit ONE person per cart only. Note: Tandem rides can be arranged on special request for children under the age of 7, provided that they are accompanied by a parent/guardian over the age of 18. Activity undertaken entirely at own risk. In order to ride, guests MUST be able to ride and balance on a bicycle. Closed shoes must be worn. Passenger ages 4 - 10 (combined weight of 120 kgs)
Minimum age +/- 10 years. Depends on height, strength and ability of child to manage the scooter. No drinks may be taken in the vehicle to the start of the Scootours ride. All safety gear provided must be worn at all times during the ride. This is a forestry area so no smoking is allowed in the vehicle or on the trails.
