That'll teach me to leave Tim alone and unsupervised on site today 🤣
In all seriousness though, this was a planned piece of work - the Grain Store floor was in desperate need of replacement and we've spent the last year trying to love and cherish it...ok, drag it kicking and screaming... through one final Summer season.
We then thought, in for a penny - in for a pound, and that this was also the perfect opportunity to remove the dated fire place. It just took up a huge amount of space for absolutely no gain as the cottages haven't had real log-burners in them for years now.
Looking at the larger space I'm wondering about changing the layout, perhaps moving the dining area, changing the location of the TV and work space and buying a new cabinet for toys and games. That might have to be a later phase of work and I'll need some guest input, so if you know the cottage get your thinking caps on as your opinions are going to be needed 💡
Soooo anyway....this is where we are today....with piles of stone and cement dust everywhere. I think we can definitely say we are in the "worse before it gets better" phase of the project.
