🍂 Autumn at March Hare Cottage, Bretforton

As the days grow shorter, September and October are wonderful months to enjoy a Cotswolds break. The countryside begins to take on its beautiful autumn colours, the lanes and footpaths are perfect for leisurely walks, and village life feels a little quieter after the busy summer months.

March Hare Cottage in the historic village of Bretforton is a lovely base for an autumn escape. This charming 19th-century cottage is just a short stroll from the famous Fleece Inn, making it easy to enjoy a cosy meal, a local pint or one of the many events taking place there without having to worry about driving home.

🍎 There are plenty of reasons to explore the surrounding area too. September brings the Broadway Horticultural & Craft Show on 12th September, the Broadway Food Festival on 13th September and the North Cotswold CAMRA B**r & C***r Festival on 11th & 12th September. The RHS Malvern Autumn Show follows from 25th–27th September.

📚 In October, head to the Cheltenham Literature Festival from 9th–18th October, or enjoy the excitement of The William Hill Showcase at Cheltenham Racecourse on 23rd & 24th October.
And of course, The Fleece Inn has its own programme of events throughout September and October, including live music, folk sessions and other events – all just a short walk from March Hare Cottage.

It's a wonderful time of year to slow down, explore the Vale of Evesham, enjoy some beautiful autumn walks and experience the Cotswolds more like a local.

🍂 As the days grow shorter, September and October are delightful months to enjoy a Cotswolds break, with the countryside beginning to take on its beautiful autumn colours and plenty of fantastic events taking place across the area.

Our Lower Mill Cottages and Laburnum Cottage in Broadway are perfect for a relaxing autumn escape, while March Hare Cottage in nearby Bretforton is just a short stroll from the historic Fleece Inn – making it a great base for exploring the Vale of Evesham too. The area comes into its own for those leisurely autumnal walks.

🍎 September is particularly busy, with the Broadway Horticultural & Craft Show on Saturday 12th September, the Broadway Food Festival on Sunday 13th September and the North Cotswold CAMRA B**r & C***r Festival on 11th & 12th September.
