Just enjoyed a beautiful walk to Torver and back along the lake shore. We are so lucky to live here. The garden is looking stunning at Oaklands (well a few weeds) the clematis are flowering well, we have 18 altogether and they flower from March until November. If someone comes along and buys our lovely home I have taken a few cuttings off them that are growing well. We are still open to a few guests now and again.....Judith and Zeke

This is why most people come to the Lakes, and we have it on our doorstep. How lucky we are to live here, but if you fancy a holiday then we can do weekly room only bookings. Judith and Zeke at Oaklands are pleased to still be welcoming guests in 2026. We would still like to downsize, but at the moment we are looking towards enjoying another summer in our gorgeous garden. Happy New Year - We hope to welcome you soon to Oaklands, or to our holiday cottage- which is on the Sykes site - Rose Cottage , Lazonby- sleeps six - garden, one pet welcomed. The Eden valley is beautiful, there is a lovely little railway station about a five minute walk away. A brilliant pub called the Featherstone Arms a 10 minute walk away.

Happy Christmas to all our friends and regular guests. We will be taking a few guests in 2026. The 11th -18th May for the Bluebird experience week when it is hopefully going on the lake, we have one double en-suite left with breakfast for seven nights at £1000 for the seven night stay.
If by any chance you are thinking of buying a beautiful family home where you can also do a little air B & B with an annex for family or a full time let or holiday cottage then please get in touch, we have just the house......time to retire although we could stay here forever. We are once again looking forward to having 14 family over Christmas all comfortable in their own rooms...perfect family house for someone.

The sun is shining and the village is getting ready for it's Christmas Fair tomorrow. The lights are up and the locals are busy with loads of winter village activities. We are so lucky to have so many people in our community taking part in a host of different activities. There really is something for everyone.
