Sledmere house really worth a visit even if it’s just for the cake. Great adventure playground for kids and horses to see. Fabulous cafe and farmshop. We haven’t done the house itself yet but it’s on the list

‼️The fireworks have been cancelled.‼️

Scarborough Goldwing Light Parade
The Scarborough Goldwing Light Parade is still going ahead on Saturday 12 September 2026, but the traditional fireworks display at the end has been cancelled.
According to a report in The Scarborough News (published 4 September 2026), the fireworks will not take place due to safety concerns and in line with government advice following recent wildfires across the country. 
Event details that are still on
• Daytime display: Goldwing motorcycles on show (around West Pier / South Bay area), typically midday to late afternoon.
• Evening light parade: Starts around 8pm, with illuminated Honda Goldwings travelling along the seafront (Foreshore Road, Marine Drive, etc.).
• The event raises money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and remains free to watch.
Road closures are still expected in the evening for the parade. For the latest confirmation, check the official event pages or local updates closer to the date.
