Did you know Selkirk is home to a monument dedicated to Old Ginger, the father of the famous Dandie Dinmont Terrier breed? 🐾

Born at The Haining on 4th June 1842, Old Ginger played a significant role in the development of this unique Scottish breed, which was made famous through Sir Walter Scott's novel Guy Mannering.

Today, visitors can find this wonderful statue within the grounds of The Haining – a quiet tribute to a dog that left a lasting mark on Scottish history.
