Meet Rose Cottage, our 18th-century thatched hideaway in High Bickington. It has exposed beams, soft Farrow & Ball colours and a gas log burner for cold evenings. Upstairs there's a two-person copper bath, and in your own private garden there's a Beachcomber hot tub waiting. ♨️

It's a lovely spot for an anniversary, a honeymoon or just a long weekend of doing very little together. RHS Rosemoor is about 20 minutes away.

Zoomies in progress 🐾

Ruby and Millie making the most of our secure Dog Exercise Field this week.

It’s over an acre of lush green grass, fully enclosed, so dogs can run off-lead to their heart’s content. There’s an undercover seat too, so you can sit back and watch (and stay dry if the Devon weather has other ideas).

If you’re planning a break with your dogs, The Wheel Room and Lakeview both welcome two dogs, and the field is right here for you to use during your stay.

Dogs are always part of the family at Millbrook, and we love seeing them have as much fun as their owners do.

A winter break with a Christmas market day out? 🎄🚂

Leave the car and hop on the train. Umberleigh station is on the Tarka Line, with an hourly service to Exeter that takes around an hour. You'll be there in time for a wander round Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market, with its twinkling chalets, mulled w**e and handmade gifts, all in the shadow of the cathedral. 🍷✨

Then come back to Millbrook to thaw out. Think toasty central heating, a long soak in the hot tub and a cosy evening in with your Christmas shopping. ♨️🔥

Some lovely news to share 🐾

Millbrook Cottages has been named a Finalist for Dog Friendly Business of the Year at the Devon Tourism Awards 2026!

We’ve always wanted our cottages to feel like a proper holiday for dogs too, with space to explore, muddy walks on the doorstep and somewhere cosy to dry off afterwards. Being recognised for that is a real treat for our little family business.

Thank you to all our guests, and their dogs, who keep coming back to stay with us. We’ll find out on 3 December whether we’ve taken Gold, Silver or Bronze, so wish us luck!

Imagine staying here... 🛏️✨

Picture it: a king-size bed with Egyptian cotton linen, a handmade mattress and a pillow of your choice. The windows look out over the lake and the alpacas. A free-standing bath is waiting just along the room, with underfloor heating. 🤍

This is Corncott, tucked away on the first floor of our Old Mill, with original beams and a water wheel you can see through its own little window. Add a woodland hot tub among the trees, a welcome cake on arrival and 32 acres to wander, and it's easy to see why couples fall for it. 🌲♨️

We've got a few last dates left over Christmas and New Year, and they won't hang around.
