🌧️🍳

Stormy mornings call for cosy comforts!

With Storm Austen and Storm Boelo bringing the wind and rain, there’s no better excuse to slow down, stay cosy and enjoy a lazy morning.

And what better way to start the day than with the smell of a freshly cooked breakfast sizzling away? 🥓🍳☕

Sometimes it’s the simple pleasures that make the best memories. ❤️

Stay warm, stay cosy and let the world outside do its thing! 🌧️🏡

Temporary BBQ & Firepit Update 🔥🌿

Due to the current very high fire/wildfire risk and the latest government fire-safety guidance, we have taken the precautionary decision to temporarily remove the BBQ and firepit from our holiday property. This also means banning the use of a disposable bbq you may decide bring with you.

The safety of our guests, the property, local wildlife, farm animals and the beautiful Devon countryside is our priority. 💚

We’ll bring them back as soon as conditions are considered safe again.

Thank you to all our guests for your understanding and cooperation. Stay safe and help us protect the countryside we all love. 🌿

…………………………………………

There are lots of simple ways we can all help prevent wildfires — please take extra care with ci******es, glass, vehicles, outdoor flames and anything that could create heat or sparks.

Who’s watching? 🌑

🌒 Eclipse evening in North Devon!
Tomorrow (12 August) we’ll see the best solar eclipse since 1999, and North Devon is one of the top places in the UK to watch it.

The partial eclipse begins around 6:17pm, reaches its dramatic peak at 7:14pm, and finishes just after 8pm, all while the Sun sits low over our huge western skies. With around 95–96% coverage, it’s going to be an incredible sight.

📍Some of the best places to watch include Saunton, Woolacombe, Westward Ho!, and the high moorland viewpoints on Exmoor like Dunkery Beacon, Holdstone Down and Brendon Common.

👓 Stay safe:
This isn’t a total eclipse, so proper eye protection is essential. Use ISO‑certified eclipse glasses or safe viewing methods, regular sunglasses aren’t enough.

If you’re out and about tomorrow evening, look west and enjoy a once‑in‑a‑generation moment over the North Devon coast.
