The last train may have puffed past The Railway Inn way back in 1964, but the business is still going as strong as ever with three generations and over 50 years of family experience at the helm. Owner Sue Perkins embarked upon a journey of the heart and bought the derelict Railway Inn in 1999 with the dream of following in her mother, Edith’s footsteps. Edith was one of the very first landladies in Hull who ran The Punchbowl on James Reckitt Avenue and The Bluebell in Sproatley for many successful years. Combined with both her Mother’s spirit and the sheer strength of family Sue and her daughters have successfully transformed The Railway Inn into a truly fantastic pub by effortlessly injecting a heart warming sense of home that transcends right through the
building and the menu. The high quality home cooked meals which range from their famous homemade steak pies to haddock and chips and even various vegetarian options which are all made with the upmost care, attention and most importantly - locally sourced ingredients. Combined with catering space for all occasions including wedding receptions, birthday parties and functions in their beautiful function room - The Railway Inn truly is the home of heart, soul and family and with the newest additions of Granddaughter Lilly
Edith and Grandson Louie, the spirit of the family continues to grow on.

What a lovely evening celebrating 60 years of St Mary’s Wives Group! 🥂💐

It was a pleasure to welcome you all to the Railway Inn for entertainment, a buffet and a raffle, raising money towards the roof repairs at St James’ Church in Old Ellerby.

Six decades of friendship, laughter and companionship — what a wonderful milestone! ❤️

A massive shout-out to Sue for organising it all. Thank you for celebrating with us! 🎉

A little look at some of the starters from our new menu! 😍

We’ve got some lovely new dishes for you to try, and here are just a few to tempt you!

🧀 Breaded Brie Wedges – £8.50
Golden, crispy on the outside with lovely soft, melted Brie in the middle. Served on warm cranberry sauce – a perfect combination!

🌽 Corn Ribs – £7.95
Sweetcorn ribs coated in seasoning, served with a chipotle mayo with fresh lime, chilli flakes and chopped coriander. A little bit smoky, a little bit spicy and full of flavour!

🍗 Spicy Chicken Wings & Sticky Belly Pork Combo – £9.50
A bit of everything for those who can’t decide! Spicy chicken wings paired with tender, sticky belly pork, served with a side of our house coleslaw.

⛈️ Storm Boelo wasn’t going to stop us! 💨

With weather warnings and the risk of power cuts, we weren’t taking any chances this weekend!

And what a Sunday it turned out to be!

Every booking turned up, along with plenty of walk-ins and last-minute bookings, making it another super busy Sunday! 🍻

The pub was warm, cosy and full of happy customers! ❤️

A MASSIVE thank you to our amazing team for pulling together and working their socks off, and to all our lovely customers for braving the weather! 🥰

Now for a whole week before we have to see another Yorkshire pudding!

However, please bear with us as there may be a few things unavailable on our menu, and some draught b**rs may be affected.

After 28 amazing years, we’re not going anywhere just yet!

🚨 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT… WE’RE CLOSING!!! 🚨

Yes, you read that right… after 28 years, we’re closing our doors!

BUT DON’T PANIC!!!

We’re only closing for 4 days from Monday 2nd November, while we make some BIG changes to our bar area!

We’ll be back open as normal on Friday 6th November! ❤️
