💚👻 Things are getting a little spooky Field House Farm Yorkshire! 🎃

Another little autumn improvement we’ve been busy with!

We’ve changed the lighting along our driveway from white to green, lighting up the tall fir trees and giving the whole drive a rather magical, slightly spooky feel! 💚🌲

With Halloween just around the corner, we thought it was the perfect time for a change, although I think we might be keeping this look for a while!

We love finding little ways to make Field House Farm that bit more special, especially when our guests arrive after dark.

What do you think? Do we keep the green or go back to white? 💚👻

🛏️ A little more TLC for The Roost! 🧡 Field House Farm Yorkshire

We’ve had a little bit of feedback recently that some of the beds 🛏️ in The Roost were getting a bit creaky … goodness knows 🧐what our guests have been getting up to! 😉🤭

We’d already treated the beds to new mattresses, but we thought, while we’re at it, why not go the whole hog and replace the bases too!

So The Roost now has brand-new beds and mattresses, and hopefully everyone can enjoy a lovely, peaceful night’s sleep! 💤

We’re genuinely sorry if anyone has been disturbed by the creaks.
We know how important a comfy bed is, especially when you’re away on holiday.

We’re always pottering about, making little changes here and there to keep our cottages as lovely and comfortable as we can.

Hopefully these new beds will get plenty of use… just not too much bouncing! 😉😂🧡

🏡✨ A little improvement at The Roost! ✨🏡 Field House Farm Yorkshire

We’re very lucky that the majority of our guests leave us such lovely 5 ⭐️ reviews, and we really do appreciate every single one. 🧡

But we’re also grateful for those little bits of constructive feedback that give us a gentle nudge to make things even better!

One recent guest mentioned that, although The Roost had seating for everyone, the lounge area could feel a little more comfortable and spacious for everyone to relax together.

So today we’ve been busy making a few changes, and we’re really pleased with the result! 🛋️✨

We always want our cottages to feel like a home from home, and sometimes it’s the little improvements that make all the difference.

🎃👻 Halloween is nearly upon us at Field House Farm Yorkshire! 👻🎃

We’ve got some lovely guests staying with us this week, including little ones, so we’ve been busy getting the pumpkins ready to add a little Halloween magic to our cottages! 🧡🍂

We’re hoping the wind calms down enough for us to put them outside tomorrow evening so everyone can enjoy our spooky decorations! 🎃

🍻 THIS WEEKEND, FIND A PUB. ❤️

Summer has gone.

The b**r gardens aren’t full, the long sunny evenings have disappeared and those spontaneous “shall we go for a pint?” afternoons become fewer and fewer.

And for many local pubs, this is when it gets tough.

The bills don’t get smaller because summer has finished. The lights still need switching on, the b**r still needs ordering, the staff still need paying and the doors still need opening — even on those cold, dark nights when there might only be a handful of people inside.

Across Britain, 161 pubs closed for good in just the first three months of 2026.

We really don’t want to see more of them disappear.

So this weekend, wherever you are…

Find a pub.

Have a pint. 🍺
Have a bite to eat. 🍴
Take the family.
Meet your mates.
Talk to a stranger at the bar.
Watch the football.
Play a game of pool.
And most importantly, have a laugh.

It doesn’t have to be The Black Swan. Go to your favourite local, try one you’ve never been in before, or finally visit that little pub you’ve driven past a hundred times.

Because these places matter.

They’re where we celebrate birthdays, raise a glass to people we’ve lost, meet old friends, make new ones and put the world to rights for an hour or two.

Pubs need people all year round — not just when the sun is shining.

🚕💙 A little shout-out for Simon's Taxis -well deserved…

Simon and Claire are ( old )friends of ours from our Bridlington days, and I just wanted to say how lovely it is to see the way they support people around them.

Over the last year especially, I’ve noticed Simon constantly sharing and supporting local businesses, friends and family around Bridlington — not just ours at Field House Farm, but so many others too. ❤️

I often have a giggle and I love the dog 🐕 posts 😌

When you run a small business yourself, you realise just how much those little things matter. A share, a recommendation, a nice comment… it all helps, and Simon seems to do it for everyone! 🥰

So we thought it was about time we returned the favour.

Whenever Scott and I are back in Bridlington, or we’re out with friends and need a taxi, Simon’s Taxis is always the one we use. 🚕

Friendly, reliable, local and run by genuinely lovely people — what more do you need?

A few new autumn 🍂 and winter plants to bring some colour as the seasons change 🌱🍂🌼
