Can a cocktail become a classic before anyone knows it is one?

Our digital magazine Raffles 1887 puts the question to Jonathan Della Lunga, Bar Manager at Le Royal Monceau - Raffles Paris. His contender for a future classic is Swimming Pool, one of eight cocktails on the hotel’s new Room of Vision menu.

Inspired by David Hockney’s Californian pool paintings and the hotel’s own 23 metre indoor pool, the creation pairs Macallan 12 Years Old with kumquat and toasted pine nut orgeat. Its custom glass even mirrors the contours of its namesake.
