At 85% we're one of the highest rated AA 2 star hotels in the country, and have held 2 rosettes for coming up to 10 years. With only 23 bedrooms, and a very successful food operation, we're more like a restaurant with rooms.

Poor Bill didn't see that coming...

While carrying out his rounds, our security had an unexpected encounter.

Fortunately, it was only Boo making its seasonal return. (Sorry, Bill)

One fright later, and our seasonal favourite is back on the bar. Think rich malts, juicy blackcurrant notes and just enough spice to keep things interesting.

Calling all little witches, wizards, ghosts & ghouls! 🎃

Before you head out trick or treating around Mellor, pop into the Millstone between 3pm and 5pm for a FREE hot chocolate for children and a chance to warm up.

Our team have been getting creative with the pumpkins, and we think they’ve done a fantastic job! 🧡 From spooky smiles to cheeky grins, each pumpkin has its own personality.

They’re now taking pride of place around the inn, adding a little extra Halloween spirit to the season!

A little throwback…we had the pleasure of welcoming these lovely gents to stay with us while filming the Lancashire episode of Gone Fishing last year! 🎣

It was a delight to host Bob Mortimer, Paul Whitehouse & friends to the Millstone, wonderful guests and a memory we’ll treasure.

We loved seeing the episode air this week! 😊

From the venison we choose to the way each Wellington is prepared, every part of the process matters. Nothing overcomplicated, nothing there for show. Just good ingredients treated with the respect they deserve.

Some traditions are worth keeping. Tomorrow, our famous venison wellington takes pride of place on the menu. Golden pastry wrapped around rich, flavourful venison, served with all the trimmings and plenty of gravy. Simple, hearty and made for autumn evenings. Welly Wednesday returns tomorrow, serving every Wednesday until 18th November.

Pull up a chair and settle in for a cosy autumn evening. Booking is recommended.
