Storm Boelo has left its mark on our landscape, bringing down the beautiful old oak tree at Rookings on the lane to Crookabeck Farm. For generations, this magnificent tree stood as a landmark; a timeless reminder of the strength and beauty of nature.
The fallen oak also reminds us of the power of the recent storm and the ever-changing character of the countryside. Many will have memories of this tree and guests who have walked down our lane to stay with us, would have walked under its branches.
Vehicle access is now permitted. 🌳🪾

Not only do we have hikers who stay with us for a tranquil night after walking the fells.
We welcome Galactic astronomers!

Guests love the Pure Lakes range that is provided in the guest en-suite rooms. They smell divine!
We also have their foot gel, foot balm and muscle balm to soothe aching feet and tired legs.
Congratulations Pure Lakes for winning Gold award for the Neam, Pine and Tea Tree Foot Balm at the Natural Health Beauty Awards 2026. A worthy winner!
