Our Holiday Caravans 🌟

We offer both dog friendly and non dog friendly caravans. As we’re located on a working farm, each of our holiday homes is named after a different sheep breed, giving them their own unique character. 🐾

All 5 of our holiday homes offer the following:
🌟Sleeps up to 6 people (2 bedrooms and a pullout sofa). We have one 3 bedroom van with 1 double, 2 twin bedrooms and a pullout sofa)
🌟Modern shower room including WC
🌟En-suite WC off the master bedroom
🌟Spacious lounge & dining area
🌟Double glazing
🌟Gas fired central heating
🌟Fully fitted kitchen including fridge/freezer and microwave
🌟Colour TV with Freeview and DVD player
🌟All bed linen is provided (not towels)

Did you know that Wastwater is just a short, low level walk from the campsite? This stunning lake is the deepest in England and is renowned for its remarkably clear waters.

What more could you want in one valley? Home to both Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, and Wastwater, its deepest lake, it’s a truly special place to explore. 💕

Our Shepherd’s Huts offer a cosy and comfortable glamping experience, perfect for couples looking to relax and unwind in the countryside. 🥾 🌳

Sleeping up to two guests and welcoming dogs, each hut features a double sofa bed, wood-burning stove (with logs provided), kettle, and essential crockery and cutlery. Bed linen is included, although guests should bring their own towels.

Nearby, the shower block provides hot showers, toilets, laundry facilities, and a washing-up area for your convenience.

This week, we’re sharing Lucy’s perfect day out straight from the campsite. With a wealth of local knowledge and a passion for the fells, Lucy is always happy to offer tips and advice for exploring the area. 🥾 💫

“One of my favourite days out starts by leaving the car at Church Stile and heading into the hills with nothing more than a cheese sandwich and a stash of emergency sweets.

From the campsite, follow the road past the sawmill before joining the footpath towards the foot of Irton Fell. Continue across to Greathall Gill, where the real work begins with a steep climb up to the summit of Whin Rigg (535m). As a wise man once said, ‘There is no easy way out of Wasdale.’

From there, the route follows an undulating path across to Illgill Head (609m), offering fantastic views along the way. A short section off the main path then leads to a beautiful trod – easily one of my top ten favourites – which winds its way down into Miterdale and through its lovely forest.

The return route takes you back over Irton Fell, which might just be the boggiest fell in all of Wasdale. Then it’s a straight run to the Strands Inn for a well-earned pint of Murphy’s to round off a cracking day in the hills.”

We’ve had some very special visitors in our ancient woodland at Church Stile this week! 🌿

Wildlife and animal care are at the heart of everything we do here at Church Stile. Being located on a working farm means we truly cherish all creatures, big and small.

This week, one of our customers spotted a Pied Flycatcher in the woodland, which has everyone thrilled and excited. It’s wonderful to see that the work we’re doing to care for and protect our woodland is helping to attract these beautiful and special birds to the area.

We’ve also been lucky enough to spot a Barn Owl over the last few days — and here is a fantastic photo captured by one of our very own team members! 🦉✨

Looking for the perfect cut of meat for this weekend? 🥩🔥

We’ve just had fresh Herdwick lamb and Boer Goat delivered straight from our farm, alongside delicious Hereford beef from the farm next door. All of our meat is sourced locally from our very own Wasdale Valley — you can’t get much fresher or more local than that. 🐮 🐑

From burgers and sausages to steaks and all your favourite cuts, we’ve got everything you need to make it an incredible weekend feast.
