Oxton Hill Hideaway shepherds huts, Nottinghamshire Welcome to our lovely holiday huts, we are dog friendly and adult only accommodation on our farm in rural Nottinghamshire.

Located a short drive from Sherwood forest and near historic Southwell. Oxton Hill Hideaway has two stunning self catering shepherds huts based on a working farm. Additionally on the farm there is a Caravan and Motorhome Club certificated location site for touring caravans and motorhomes. Based on a working farm with stunning countryside and lots of space is close to the historic town of Southwell

. Guests enjoy visiting Sherwood Forest, Sherwood Pines, Southwell, Nottingham and Newark on Trent which are all nearby.

Gorgeous walk with our dogs this morning up out of Oxton to the top of the Saxon burial mounts. Lots of sheep and lambs in the fields which are so joyous to see.

It’s now well into lambing season so just a reminder to keep your dogs on a lead when sheep are about. 🐕‍🦺

Did you know that on the farm we have some relatives of the world famous 1000 year old Nottinghamshire Major Oak - the very tree where Robin Hood and his Merry Men hid! 🌳 🏹

Given to us many years ago as tiny saplings, our oak trees are growing well. Let’s hope they also last a 1000 years 😊

Visit the original tree at nearby Sherwood Forest. 🪾🌳

On a walk around the farm along the grass paths around the fields you’ll see our horse Daisy who currently is in the field by Paddock View hut. Also there are the ponies: Teddy and Tigger who have smaller paddocks so they don’t eat too much grass.

Rufford Abbey is such a lovely place to visit when staying at our huts. About 20 minutes away by car, it has a huge lake, woodland walks and lovely cafes. Well worth a visit.
