A bit misty at the moment but the sun looks to be peeking through. Simply stunning moon last night and although Whitby isn't promoted as Dark Skies, last night, when looking towards the sea and the moon, there were loads of stars to be seen in the sky. Also we could see the lights changing on Whitby Abbey in the distance so really made me appreciate where we live. We have availability over several November weekends. Friday 13th/14th/15th - Christmas markets weekend and hot Whitby Hot Chocolate Festival. Plus the following weekend from Thursday 19th November -Sunday 22nd - Whitby Literature Festival. Anyone like Kings Of Leon? At Scarborough open air Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Sunday June 27th. It's only a 32 mins drive from our B&B to the car park near the theatre (then a 3 mins walk down the hill to the entrance - really easy to get to). Also new to the town in Momento Mori which has just opened on Grape Lane, a few doors along from the Quirkey Den.

The A169 is currently closed between Saltergate Bank and Lockton in Ryedale while the emergency services deal with a collision.

Look how blue the sky is today, it is so lovely here in Whitby. Rooms available all week up to Thursday October 8th then from Sunday October 11th. Claras is literally a 5-6 mins walk from our B&B, lovely coffee, amazing sea views
