🐧💙 WILDLIFE TO SEE IN OCTOBER: LITTLE BLUE PENGUINS!

Did you know you can watch little blue penguins (kororā) come ashore at dusk on the beautiful Otago Peninsula? 🌊

You can watch these adorable little seabirds gather offshore before waddling up the beach to their burrows. October is part of their spring breeding season, making it a special time to learn about these amazing birds.

📍 Our local tip: Allow plenty of time for the drive out to Taiaroa Head and enjoy the stunning coastal scenery along the way. Make sure you book your viewing experience ahead of time!

🐦💙 WILDLIFE TO SEE IN OCTOBER: NORTHERN ROYAL ALBATROSS 💙🐦

Did you know October is a special time for the Northern Royal Albatross at Taiaroa Head on the Otago Peninsula?

These magnificent birds are returning to reunite with their mates, rebuild their nests and take part in beautiful courtship displays — including bill-clapping and calling! ❤️

As October progresses, egg-laying begins, marking another special stage in the lives of these incredible seabirds.

With their enormous wingspans and graceful flight, the albatross are an unforgettable sight for visitors to Dunedin.

📍 Our local tip: If you're heading out to the Otago Peninsula, allow plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and look for wildlife along the way. You won't want to rush this trip!
