October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and today we turned Donohoe PINK! 💗 Teams across the company came together to honor survivors, support those in the fight, and remember the loved ones we’ve lost. Thank you to everyone who helped raise awareness and spread the word about early detection and regular screenings. Stay tuned for our portfolio-wide recap!

The future of hospitality was in the room last night. Our team joined the AHEAD Impact Dinner and Awards at Howard University, a night celebrating leadership, opportunity, and impact in our industry.

From the opening beat, the room was alive. Timothy Fletcher’s incredible drumming performance carried us through the evening, setting the tone for a celebration of talent, energy, and possibility. AHEAD’s Executive Director Brian Barker opened by thanking everyone in the room for helping create meaningful opportunities in hospitality for young people, and you could feel that shared purpose all night long.

Our President, Thomas Penny, proudly presented the James Wormley Impact Award to Elliott Ferguson, President of Destination DC, in recognition of his lasting impact on our city and industry.

We all shared a moment that made our whole table stand a little taller. The AHEAD Pathways Award was presented to Syamyia Beach, an Operations Manager here at Donohoe Hospitality. Syamyia’s journey is exactly what AHEAD’s mission is all about: when young people are given a real pathway into hospitality, they don’t just find a job; they build a career and become leaders. Congratulations, Syamyia. We’re so proud of you!

At Donohoe Hospitality, investing in the next generation of hospitality leaders is at the heart of who we are. Organizations like AHEAD open doors, and it’s our responsibility as an industry to make sure those doors lead somewhere meaningful.

Fifteen years ago, The Hotel at Arundel Preserve opened its doors with a vision to be more than a place to stay, and to become a true partner to the community it serves. Today, that vision continues to be a reality.

Over the past decade and a half, our hotel team has welcomed travelers from around the world while building lasting relationships with neighbors, businesses, and organizations that surround it. To honor this milestone, the team hosted a community celebration that brought together the community for a day of live entertainment, tasty food, and meaningful connection. The celebration captured the very essence of the hotel’s story, strengthened by a community that has embraced it, and powered by a dedicated team whose care and commitment remain at the heart of every guest experience.

We extend our sincere thanks to all who joined the celebration, with special appreciation to our President, Thomas Penny; Maryland State Senator Pamela Beidle; District 32 Delegate Mark Chang; and District 1 Council Member and Vice Chair Pete Smith.

Our Donohoe Hospitality team was proud to join students, families, faculty, and fellow partners for the groundbreaking of the new Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School Athletics Center, a space where students can train, compete and the entire school community can gather.
