We are thrilled to welcome the 106-room Hotel Nell - Union Market along with Treehouse Rooftop, Singing Tiger and Bolgiano's Pantry to Donohoe Hospitality!

The building's history makes this especially meaningful as it was once home to the historic F.W. Bolgiano Seed Company, and its owners wove that legacy into Hotel Nell's design. The surrounding neighborhood has its own story too, before it became Union Market, it was the Florida Avenue Market, a neighborhood staple for generations of Washingtonians.

Today, Union Market brings together longtime Washingtonians, new residents and visitors into a neighborhood that has evolved while holding on to its history and character. It's a community in every sense, and we're proud that Hotel Nell - Union Market can play a part in this story.

Another year, our team shared our presence at the front door of two schools on the first day back, ready to welcome students into the year ahead.

In Washington, DC, our team joined the staff at Richard Wright Charter School to welcome students arriving for their first full day, greeting them right at the entrance as they lined up to start the day. While in Baltimore, MD, we brought that same spirit to the National Academy Foundation, standing alongside educators to help kick the 2026 - 2027 school year off right.

Showing up for the youth is a continuing story Donohoe Hospitality has been part of for years. Grateful to the teams at both schools for welcoming us, and to our Donohoe family who showed up to make the morning bright for the students.

Nine weeks ago, our newest cohort of hospitality interns walked through the doors ready to learn every side of our business. They didn't just show up, they dove in!

From Front Desk shifts and Housekeeping walkthroughs at Holiday Inn Capitol and Cambria Navy Yard Riverfront, to Food & Beverage operations at AC/RI Reston, to Purchasing and Vendor Management at Syn Dupont. Our interns received real, hands-on exposure across Rooms Division, F&B, Sales & Catering, and Engineering.

They didn't stop there. At Donohoe HQ, they rotated through Training, Recruitment, Employee Engagement, Accounting, Owner Reporting, Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing, Brand Marketing, Public Relations, Construction, and even an AI Discovery session with a goal to build a 360-degree view of what it takes to run a hospitality business. They also extended their time into the community at The Arc DC in Ward 8 to serve close to 200 neighbors healthy, fresh herbs and vegetables.

This past week, they brought it all together, capping off the program with their capstone presentation, sharing the insights, ideas, and growth from their nine weeks with the Donohoe team.

Our Vice President of Revenue Management, Neeta Mayur shared her reflection on Day Two of Sales & Revenue Training, "Today's training was an incredible session of collaboration and learning. The future of sales and revenue is about empowering people with better insights. By combining creative human expertise, AI, and business intelligence, we transform data into smarter decisions, stronger strategies, and better results."

In addition to our training sessions, we were taken through a relaxing mind and body mindfulness practice with Anil Manley of Well Advantage. We also received exciting updates from our culinary and design team Malcolm Mitchell, Vice President of Restaurants & Bars, Sonat Ozkaynak, Corporate Director of Food & Beverage and Keem Hughley, Corporate Director of Culinary & Concept Design. And Lisa Barham of Hotel Resources closed us out with an insightful AI Sales Workshop.

A big thank you to our best-in-class Sales and Revenue team who stayed deeply engaged, brought great energy and questions throughout the day. Excited to see these insights put into action!

William Grace, Director of Sales & Marketing, Chef Kenneth Johnson and our culinary team previewed how they take ordinary flavors and reimagine them with a creative, upscale twist that turns a routine morning spread into something guests remember.
