Happy National Go Fishing Day from the Blue Ridge Mountains!

If you're staying with us and looking for the best water around, the Davidson River is calling your name. Tucked into Pisgah National Forest just south of Brevard, this gin-clear freestone stream is legendary among fly fishers, and it's only about 20 minutes from our cabins.

A few things to know before you go:
🟢 The upper 14 miles are catch-and-release, fly-fishing only. Bring your small flies and light tippet, these trout are smart and the water is technical
🟡 Prefer a more relaxed day? The hatchery-supported section below Avery Creek allows bait and is a great spot if you're hoping to keep a few.
Stop by Davidson River Outfitters first. Grab local flies, a permit, or even book a guided half-day if you're new to the river

Whether you're a seasoned angler chasing a trophy brown or just want to wet a line for the first time, the Davidson is one of those rivers that makes you understand why people fall in love with fly fishing in WNC.
