Skyland Camp & Retreats is a beautiful mountain getaway that is steeped in history, love, and a whole lot of fun. Skyland began as a mountain hotel in the late 1800s, and then served as a privately-owned overnight camp for girls for more than 100 years, Skyland now serves girls, women, families (and humanity!) in new and beautiful ways. The Skyland property, with its tree-lined paths, babbling brooks, and cabins with screened-in sleeping porches, is the perfect location for you to experience one of our mini-camps, host a family reunion, or participate in one of our equine programs.

✨ Girlhood isn't limited by age ✨

Young girls, counselors, and adult campers experience the freedom, the joy, and the connection of girlhood and sisterhood all summer long.

At camp, you can frolic with friends in borrowed dresses, cheer on your team, laugh until you cry, engage in meaningful conversations, and hug a horse - all in one day! Our friends and sisters lift us up and create the magic that lives only at camp.

Whether you're returning to Skyland for your 10th summer or you're coming to camp for the first time, you will find a place where you belong. Join us at Girls Camp or at an adult camp in 2027 - registration is open!

We've been digging through Hempy's photo albums from the 1920s - 1940s and have found some gems! We love seeing how Skyland campers have changed and stayed the same for over 100 years 💚

We had the pleasure of welcoming The Museum of Haywood County History to tour camp this week!

Skyland campers might recognize the museum as the Shook-Smathers house, located across the street from the gas station in Clyde. We loved having them out to walk through the property while talking about camp’s history.

The goofiest goofballs you've ever seen are Skyland counselors - and we couldn't be more proud!

Through their care and hard work, our joyous, silly team made every moment magical this summer and touched the lives of every camper who stepped foot on The Hill.

We love you, counselors! We can't wait to see you back at Skyland next summer to create even more hilarious memories together.
