Visiting summit during the day is a completely different kind of magic. You can still get those huge crater views, clouds drifting below you, and that otherworldly volcanic scenery, but without the middle-of-the-night wakeup call.

Go earlier in the day for clearer views, bring warm layers, and give yourself time to stop at the overlooks along the way.

Sugar Beach is one of Maui’s longest stretches of sand, made for morning walks, calm swims, sunset strolls, and those easy beach days where you never have to go far. Kihei Beach 210 puts you right there, in a beachfront North Kihei setting with ocean views from your private lanai.

Inside, this remodeled 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo has central A/C, a full kitchen, washer and dryer, fast Wi-Fi, and space for up to 4 guests.

Spend the day between the beach, oceanfront pool, and barbecue area, then walk across the street for shave ice, fresh pastries, or the farmers market. It’s simple, sunny, and exactly the kind of Maui stay people come back for. https://www.aliiresorts.com/vrp/unit/KIHEI_BEACH_210-99519-13

Along the , the coastline is constantly changing. One moment you’re looking at a black rock shoreline, the next you’re passing waterfalls, lush jungle, or cliffs dropping straight into the Pacific. It’s one of Maui’s most scenic drives for a reason.

The Kapalua Coastal Trail is one of West Maui’s easiest ways to pack big scenery into a short walk, running about 1.76 miles one way, or roughly 3.5 miles out and back, between Kapalua Bay and D.T. Fleming Beach Park.

The path mixes paved walkway, boardwalk, sand, and lava rock, with ocean views almost the entire way. Along the route, you’ll pass Kapalua Bay, Namalu Bay, Oneloa Beach (seen here), rugged lava points, restored dunes, and views toward Molokaʻi.

It’s mostly gentle, but still feels wild in spots, with crashing surf, ironwood trees, seabirds, tide pools, and the famous Dragon’s Teeth formation near Makāluapuna Point close by.

Maui in summer is more than beach time, though there’s plenty of that too.

This season brings a full lineup of island events, from the Nā Kamehameha Commemorative Pāʻū Parade and Kapalua Wine & Food Festival in June to the Makawao Stampede & Rodeo over Fourth of July weekend. Later in the summer, Obon gatherings, hula performances, Maui Calls, and community festivals keep the calendar full.

It’s a beautiful time to mix a little planning with plenty of free space. Book the big things early, give yourself extra drive time for West Maui events, and save your mornings for the water before the trades pick up.

Summer on Maui is best enjoyed slowly, with sunscreen, good timing, local food, and a few plans that turn into favorite memories.

Festivals, Paniolo, Hula, Food, Film, and Long Beach Days Summer 2026 on Maui brings a full calendar of island events, with film in Wailuku, wine and food in Kapalua, rodeo in Makawao, hula in West Maui, fireworks over the water, and long beach days tucked in between. Some event schedules have shift...

is small, dramatic, and unforgettable. This partially submerged volcanic crater sits between Maui and Kahoʻolawe, surrounded by deep blue water and some of the clearest snorkeling on the island.

It’s the kind of place where the boat ride is beautiful, but what’s under the water steals the show.

The back road to Hāna shows a side of Maui most visitors never see. After the waterfalls, rainforest, and pools near Kīpahulu, the island changes fast. The road opens into dry coastline, open ranchland, lava rock, sea cliffs, and wide views that feel completely different from the lush drive into .

This route is rugged, narrow, and not for everyone. Some rental car companies don’t allow it, and parts of the road can have gravel, broken pavement, blind turns, and one-lane stretches, so caution matters.

But for those who plan ahead, drive slowly, and respect the road, the reward is huge. You’ll pass places like Palapala Hoʻomau Church, Laulima Farm, Kaupō, Kaupō Gap, and quiet stretches of coast with almost no buildings in sight. It’s remote, raw, and unforgettable, with the volume turned down and the views turned all the way up.
