2026 was truly one for the history books! As we celebrated America’s 250th anniversary, we were reminded of what makes this historic hotel so special. It’s the incredible team who brings it to life each day, the guests who return year after year, and the countless memories made along the way.

As we close the doors on our 2026 season, our hearts are full. We’re already counting down the days until we can welcome you home again. With our 175th anniversary on the horizon, 2027 promises to be an especially memorable chapter in the Island House story. Until then, thank you for an unforgettable season! 🫶🏼

We kept the porch lights on for a few extra ghosts and goblins this year. 👻🎃

For the first time in many years, our season included Halloween weekend on Mackinac Island, and you made it one to remember! We loved passing out candy, seeing our staff’s pumpkin-carving creations and our guests’ costumes, and gathering around the fire for s’mores.

Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun. Here’s to making more Halloween traditions together and closing the season in the best way possible! 🧡

Prost to an unforgettable Macktoberfest! 🍻🇩🇪

The steins were full, the schnitzelbank was loud, and the Gemütlichkeit was in full swing! From dancing along with the Kielbasa Kings to raising a stein (or holding one a little longer than expected 😉), the Bavarian spirit was alive and well on Mackinac Island!
