Puck Around and Find Out
(JC Burnin Thunder)
8 year old, 15.3hh UNRACED thoroughbred gelding

Bred to race, but never saw a track, Puck was saddle broke here on my farm as a 5 year old by yours truly. He has mainly been ridden by teenagers and young adult amateurs both on the farm and off the farm to local shows. Puck goes w/t/c both directions in the ring and has been introduced to small jumps both at the trot and canter. Puck has also been ridden western in the past.

Recently, Puck has been introduced to fox hunting and has taken to it quite well. He has gone out 2nd Flight and proven to be sensible, forward thinking, and brave. He stands well at checks and controls himself through all gaits. He does well around the hounds and strange horses. I foresee him ready to move into 1st Flight before the end of the season. He seems to have found his calling outside of the ring.

Puck is barefoot and is a very easy keeper. He is happy to live outside 24/7, but does well in a stall when asked. He stands for the vet and farrier. He enjoys grooming and attention as well.

Older ring videos are available, but he has mainly been ridden out of the ring as of late. PPE results are already available, but buyers are welcome to perform their own if desired. Puck is currently listed at 💲6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣, but will be increasing soon as I continue to fox hunt with him.

Postcode Envy
(JC Ditch the Loot)
4 year old, 15.1hh thoroughbred mare

Beauty and brains meet athleticism all in one mare! Envy is a stunning young mare that spent the summer with me letting down from the track and gaining weight. She has recently been restarted and is already a favorite of all who ride her. This mare is incredibly athletic and forward thinking with natural talent that does not come around often. She has 3 lovely gaits with a floaty trot and a canter stride that covers ground. Though green, Envy is quickly learning all the things a young horse should: steady pace, bending/flexing, balance, softness, and collection.

Envy is not one to offer bucking or rearing. She is amateur and advanced teenager friendly, but it is important to note that she is still young and needs experienced direction. She is lovely to handle on the ground and has fit in well in all turn out situations (mares only here, but was with a gelding at a previous home). She stands well for the vet and farrier. She currently wears two front shoes. Envy is up to date on all of her vaccines and coggins.

Envy is priced at 💲5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣, to increase as we continue to work with her. I am also more than willing to discuss a paid off site lease to a reputable program OR an onsite full lease because I really do not want to let this mare go, but I remind myself that I cannot keep all the good ones for myself!

Videos are located in the comment section of this ad. Envy is located in New Freedom, PA.

I might be a bit biased, but my farm has some of the most gorgeous fall sunrises 🌇

It's quiet moments like this that make all of the early mornings worth it ⛅

Thank you to everyone who braved the sudden change in weather 🥶 to attend our Maneuvers Clinic!

Despite the cold, everyone did an excellent job with their horses and the improvements made in just a few hours were extraordinary! Everyone went home with some new techniques in their tool belts and I am excited for their progress reports as they continue perfecting their skills.

Be on the lookout for our next clinic! I have a holiday themed obstacle clinic in the works for December!

He's still here, so he's going to work 🤷

My main mount was feeling a bit back sore after some intense work outs lately, so while we wait for the body worker, Puck stepped in to fox hunt today! He handled himself like a gentleman.

Are you looking for your next hunt horse? Sn**ch him up, because if I start taking him out more I may end up keeping him 😳

The key to any proper training foundation is the ability to give softly to pressure.

When Boss first came to me a couple of weeks ago, he made it abundantly clear that he had zero desire to give to pressure and he had two very difficult tricks up his sleeve.

When any kind of pressure was applied, Boss would either push against it by throwing his shoulder into me or he would continuously back up to try and avoid the pressure. He was incredibly resistant which is perfectly normal.

Change brings resistance, and his entire world had just been turned upside down.

In the video below, you will see one of the exercises I use to help horses soften both their minds and their bodies. In the beginning, you can see Boss trying to back up to avoid the pressure on his hindquarters, but as soon as he steps over and properly yields, I take away the pressure.

✨Horses learn from the RELEASE of pressure, not the pressure itself✨
(Thanks Clinton for the great reminder)

I repeat the process several times, always releasing when he gives to the pressure so that he learns softening and yielding are the correct answer. By the end, you see him softly yielding his hindquarters both ways and stepping towards me with very little pressure on the training line.

Great job, Boss! 🙌

I had a lot of people contact me over the summer looking for training, but I was months deep with a waiting list and I could not give a definitive answer for when I would have another spot available.

Well, I ✨finally✨ have an answer!

I will have ONE training spot opening at the beginning of November and ONE spot opening at the beginning of December. Unless I get some projects sold, these will be the ONLY training spots open for the rest of this year.

If you have been considering my program, now is the time to contact me to claim these spots. The only way to claim a space in my program is with a first week's deposit ($375). These spaces are on a first come, first serve basis.

This is some of what my program offers:
💜 Foundational ground work
🩵 Behavioral problem solving
💜 Tune ups and advancing maneuvers
🩵 Track restarts
💜 Weanling/yearling training
🩵 C**t starting

I am beginning my search for a Sunday morning feeder. Preference is given to someone who wants to work in exchange for ride time. Opportunities to show, trail ride, and fox hunt can be given to the right candidate.

Duties include:
💜 Setting hay/water if horses come in
🩵 Bringing in & feeding
💜 Turning back out (weather permitting)

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Professionalism and horse experience are required. This is an active training facility and there is a stallion on the premise. This is an easy job that takes +/- an hour and is done with one other person. Again, preference given to someone looking to work in exchange for ride time. I have both English and western horses available. This position is located in New Freedom, PA. Please check distance BEFORE you message me.

Puck is still available and today he went to his first Poker Run with a young adult amateur. He crossed bridges and water, navigated difficult terrain, and both led and followed on the ride.
