Southern Decadence (Sep 3 - 7)
The Labor Day Weekend Festival not to be missed. LGBTQ events and a raucously fun French Quarter parade.

New Orleans Yoga Fest (Sept 3–6)
A multi-day wellness gathering that brings together yoga classes, sound healing, and meditation with live music and community events. It features live music, yoga classes, and community workshops to inspire wellness and connection.

International Dance Festival (Sept 10–13)
The festival is a culmination of classes and performances that celebrate cross-cultural exchange, hosted at the Contemporary Arts Center. It draws contemporary dance artists from around the world alongside performers from the Gulf South region.

New Orleans Fashion Week (Sept 20–26)
Now in its 16th season, this event showcases fashion professionals in runway shows, presentations, and pop-up boutiques across the city.

New Orleans Cocktail Week (Sept 21–27)
A week-long celebration showcasing the city's top bars, restaurants, and mixologists. It's a festival that highlights award-winning bars, restaurants, and distilleries, bringing locals and visitors together over signature cocktails.

International Arts Festival (Sept 24–27)

A one-day celebration highlighting New Orleans creativity across food, art, and design. It's designed to spotlight local talent.

National Fried Chicken Festival (Oct 2nd–4th)
A popular culinary event celebrating the country's best fried chicken, local food vendors, and live music.

Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival (Oct 9th–11th)
Held at Lafayette Square, this free public event features top regional blues and R&B musicians alongside great barbecue.

Gentilly Fest (Oct 9th–11th)
Located at Pontchartrain Park, it celebrates the food, music, and culture of the Gentilly neighborhood.

New Orleans Film Festival (Oct 22nd–27th)
An internationally recognized event showcasing independent films, documentaries, and shorts from emerging and veteran filmmakers.

LASPCA Carnival (Oct 24th)

From someone living elsewhere, longing for New Orleans. A heartful love poem to New Orleans:
My heart yearns for the only city that has ever felt like home for me. I’m not sure what else to even say. It’s easy to fall in love with it. You can’t help but let it charm you. The music gets stuck in your head, like an old song. The food soothes your soul whenever weary. And the people….the people enrich your entire life. They make the city even more wonderful. We commiserate together. We celebrate together. We dance freely and protect one another fiercely. When at our lowest, we’re at our best. It’s a cruel dichotomy, the way New Orleans shines brightest in the dark. But that’s what it does. I am who I am because of what that place made me. It birthed my spirit. Influenced the way I create. It showed me love when I had none left. Healed me when broken. Welcomed me when I had nowhere, nothing.
Whenever anybody asks, I tell them, proudly, I’m from New Orleans.
