Our Goal: To promote full participation, equity and economic self-sufficiency for America’s working women.

We meet for dinner and a program, the second Monday of every month at 5:45 PM at the T&C Grille Tunkhannock PA. In addition to our meeting we host fundraising and awareness events throughout the year.

As National Business Women’s Week draws to a close, we are still celebrating the amazing women in our community. BPW member Jill Robinson would like to recognize Kristine Werkheiser, owner of The Local Emporium Co., for her beautiful shop and for uplifting local artists and makers and Amanda Kiernan, environmental educator at Vosburg Neck State Park, for providing wonderful programs and events for all ages. Thank you, ladies, for all that you do!

The Dietrich Theater has an amazing staff of women (and men who are supportive of women)- Two of those women are Cultural Programing Director Mary Turner and Assistant Cultural Programming Director Lily Reid. Their work helps make our community a great place to live! Thanks for all you do, and Happy National Business Women’s week!

Today kicks off National Business Women's Week! This observance celebrates the achievements of women in the workplace. It also takes a look at the past, how far women in business have come, and how far we have yet to go.

Every year, women in the workforce take on stronger, more empowering roles. They run their own businesses, take charge of the boardroom, and build upon last year’s successes. Not long ago, very few women even had a voice. Today, women own approximately 14.2 million U.S. businesses and generate approximately $2.8 trillion in receipts each year. Their contributions to the economy cannot go unnoticed.

On this special week, we want to say thank you to all of women who lead and inspire in our community. They are among the business owners, professionals, leaders, mentors, volunteers, innovators, caregivers, educators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who make a difference every day. Thank you for everything that you do!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our blood drive in memory of Cheryl Sands. Over 40 generous donors gave blood to help patients in need.

Thank you to the Wyoming County Commissioners for making a proclamation recognizing National Business Women’s Week on October 18-24, 2026.

We encourage all citizens in Wyoming County to join this salute and celebrate the achievements of all working women as they contribute daily to our economic, civic, and cultural livelihood.
