Thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on us following the storm. We are all doing well, and we are very grateful for your concern.

Volcano Village Lodge is open and continuing to welcome guests. Our thoughts are very much with our neighbors and others in the community who have been more severely impacted.

We feel like our guests arrive here, and everyone has made plans around the lava and the volcanoes. But what if we said you could plan around goats?

Volcano is farm country. It is the elevation, about 4,000 feet, cool and wet. Good for tea, orchids, and mamaki. A tea farm on the slopes of Kilauea. A farm down the road where you can hold a goat. A winery growing its own tea.

We’re Hiring: Part-Time Housekeepers. Our properties in Volcano are looking for reliable, detail-oriented part-time housekeepers to join our small team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys creating a clean, welcoming space for guests and takes pride in the little details that make a stay feel special.

Responsibilities include guest room cleaning, laundry, light common-area cleaning, and helping keep the properties looking their best. Part-time hours available. If you will be here on August 21, buy your tickets now for Kalani Pea's 10 Year Anniversary Concert at the Palace Theater in Hilo on Friday at 7 pm, doors open at 6. He is a 4-time Grammy winner, and he is bringing a hula halau with him.

The early-bird tickets are already sold out, which tells you how popular this event is. Hilo is about a 45-minute drive from us, so plan ahead for a longer evening out but an easy drive.

Happy 110th birthday today. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park was established on August 1, 1916. It was the 11th national park in the country, and it is about 5 minutes from our door.

Tuesday, August 25, is a fee-free day in honor of the birthday celebration.

Standard entry fees vary by vehicle type, but if you plan to visit multiple parks, the America the Beautiful Pass is available to U.S. citizens and residents. You can buy your pass instantly online as a digital pass through Recreation.gov or buy a physical pass in person at thousands of National Park Service Locations or online at the USGS Online Store.

Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park is so convenient from your Volcano Village Lodge base. To visit the park, start early or visit in the evening to skip the crowds. Kīlauea has been erupting intermittently with a series of distinct fountaining episodes.
