The property has several options depending on the amount of guests. There are two units that can be rented separately OR you can rent the entire Hale (house) visitors to Volcano Village

•QUEEN EMMA $150 – This separate unit is a large studio with a full kitchen, big seating area and an open bedroom area with private bath.
•SIR SPENCER $250 – One separate unit offers two bedrooms with a family room and kitchen.
•KING KEN $325 – The entire Hale can be enjoyed by an entire family (Ohana) when both units are rented together.

5th Street Ohana provides services including freshening of the room when you stay more than 3 days. Amenities include ingredients for a self-indulgent prepared breakfast, a fully equipped kitchen, cable television, fireplace heater and space to relax after a day of discovery. Our staff provides you daily ingredients that allow you to make your breakfast on your schedule. The refrigerator will be stocked with fresh bread, eggs, milk, and juices. A small basket of fresh fruit and other morning treats will be made available daily.

There's no leaf peeping on the Big Island, but October brings cooler nights, quieter trails, and fewer crowds at Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. It's a good month to slow down, take in the park, and visit local sites at your own pace. If you're thinking about a fall or early winter trip, now's a great time to look at dates.

Looking for a quieter hike near Volcano? The Kahuku Unit of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is on Highway 11 near mile marker 70.5 in the Kau district, about an hour's drive south of the main park entrance. It offers more than 16 miles of trails across former ranch land, lava flows, and native forest. There is no entrance fee. Open Thursday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Monday through Wednesday.

Fall officially began on Tuesday, September 22, but the season looks a little different in Volcano Village. You won’t find the traditional red and gold fall foliage here. Instead, our rainforest stays beautifully green, while mornings can feel cool and misty, with the kind of weather that makes you want to grab a light jacket and head out to explore.

We think it is a wonderful time to hike Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, just two miles from 5th Street Ohana. Pack layers and a rain jacket, because weather around Kīlauea can change quickly, then spend the day discovering trails, craters, rainforest, and some of the most extraordinary landscapes on the Big Island.

Today is one of eight days this year when the National Park Service waives entrance fees, and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is 2 miles from our front door. One thing to know before you drive up. Starting this year, fee-free entry covers U.S. citizens and residents. Visitors from outside the country still pay the regular entrance fee. Camping and reservation fees stay in place either way.

If you are already staying with us this week, today is the day to go. If you are planning ahead, the next fee-free entry day will be November 11.
