Parsons Hilltop Safari Camp Parsons Hilltop Safari Camps is an unfenced exclusive tented safari camp on the top of the hill in Parsons Nature Reserve.

We also offer a private house for 10 guests and two cottages at the Olifants river.

Meet Estalie, one of our guides at Parsons Hilltop Safari Camps!🌿

Her favorite animal to track? “Definitely a leopard! It’s so satisfying to first find the tracks and tell the guests about them and then finding the scent of popcorn (leopard scentmarking) while tracking them, and then finding them.”

Her most unforgettable moment in the bush? “Definitely the day I was responding to a lion sighting. When I got there, the lions had gone into the bush and we could hear them growling. Then one of my guests suddenly said, ‘Oh my word... there’s a leopard in the tree!’ I called the other guides and we made our way towards the tree, finding the lions underneath it and the leopard right at the very top. It turned out the lions had stolen the leopard’s impala kill!” 🐆🦁

Why Parsons Hilltop Safari Camps? “For me, it’s very different from other lodges. Here, you get a very close connection with your guests and you almost become family. I also like that it’s not that big of a lodge, but still the biggest on the reserve, with three camps. The team is small too, but we become family.”

Safari essentials? “My camera, binoculars and spotlight. I also take a laser pointer with me, so if we find animals and the guests can’t see them, I can point them out with the laser and they instantly find the animals. It’s also very good for looking at the stars.” ✨
