🔥 A little change now, for a healthier reserve later.
Over the past few days, controlled block burns have
taken place on sections of the Walkers property as part of the ongoing veld management programme within the Timbavati Nature Reserve.
Fire is a natural and important part of the African bushveld ecosystem. Carefully planned burns help manage older grass, recycle nutrients back into the soil, encourage fresh growth and maintain a healthy balance within the landscape for the wildlife that depends on it.
These burns are carefully managed by the reserve, with specific areas selected and conditions closely monitored to ensure the fire remains controlled and beneficial to the veld.
And the best part? The transformation is just around the corner. 🌱
With rain on the horizon this weekend, we're looking forward to watching the first fresh green shoots emerge and seeing the bushveld come alive again.
Before long, these recently burnt areas will be a lush carpet of new growth, bringing with them the promise of another beautiful season in the Lowveld.
Nature has its own way of renewing itself. We simply help it along.💚
