Tomorrow is our Charity Day at Puzzlewood!

All profits from the day will be donated to two charities we've chosen to support: Mind and SARA (Severn Area Rescue Association).

Some of the SARA crew will be joining us on the day — do say hello and find out more about the incredible work they do.

Gates open: 10am
Last entry: 3.30pm
Gates close: 5pm

Come and explore, and help support two charities doing such important work in our community.

Today is National Walking Day! 🌲

So please treat this as your friendly reminder to step away from the screen and back into the natural world.

In the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, walking isn’t just about hitting your step count; it’s about the way the sun hits your face and the air changes as you move through this ancient pine-scented woodland.

Here are some of our favourite walks we recommend:

🎨 The Sculpture Trail: A great family-friendly woodland stroll with world-class art! Perfect for getting the family out this Easter break. ✨ Forestry England

🌊 The Wye Valley River Path: Level, easy-going and peaceful, ideal for clearing your head while watching the water move south. Stop off at the The Saracens Head Inn - Symonds Yat for a warming pub lunch.

🏰 Heritage Trails: Walk through the shadows of Tintern Abbey or along the ancient Offa’s D**e for those wanting to enjoy some of the UK’s stunning history.

🌲 Puzzlewood: An amazing woodland walk that feels like it is straight out of a fairytale. Plus, you'll also see the woodland where they filmed parts of Star Wars and Merlin!

P.S It's worth noting that Lydney Park Estate opens tomorrow with an amazing walk too! 🤝

Looking for a woodland walk all to yourself? Craving that quiet space and time for your thoughts among nature? We know that some of our picturesque trails can get busy, so we've put together a little guide of the more peaceful spots for a quiet wander:

🏞️ Soudley Ponds - Located within the Forest of Dean, is a haven of natural beauty. Stroll along serene pathways, watch the reflections dance on the water, and let the calm of this place wash over you. Visit the near by Dean Heritage Centre for a warming drink after (make sure to check opening times).
🌲 New Fancy Viewpoint- Find serenity at New Fancy Viewpoint deep in the Forest of Dean. Perched high above the forest canopy, this spot offers sweeping views that will inspire and invigorate your spirit.
🍃 Barbadoes Wood (near Tintern Abbey) - Enjoy history and nature at Barbadoes Wood. Located near the iconic Tintern Abbey, you will be transported to a place of timeless beauty. Here you are also just around the corner from Forest Retreats who offer a whole host of incredible wellbeing services.
🌳 Tidenham Chase - Discover solitude among the trees in the peaceful Tidenham Chase. Walking paths at Tidenham Chase will take you to both Offa's D**e, the ancient border between Wales and England, and the Devil's pulpit. This vast woodland offers a sense of seclusion, making it the perfect spot to reconnect with nature and your inner thoughts.
🏞 Lanucaut Loop - Follow the Lanucaut Loop trail from Chepstow, where the winding cliff paths and dramatic views could lead to moments of stillness and reflection. You're also in close proximity here to the awe-inspiring Castell Cas-gwent / Chepstow Castle offering an enriching exploration experience.
