𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸

Discover the amazing story that Northumberland’s rocks tell about Northumberland’s history.

The talk will explore the full history of Northumberland, from 425 million years ago right up to today and explain how and why its rocks are the reason for the region’s outstanding scenery and landscape and the basis for its wildlife, history, economy and culture.

This evening will open a window into the Northumberland beneath your feet, and it will especially reveal the origins of the stunning landscape of Hadrian’s Wall and the Whin Sill.

This talk is for everyone who is curious about their landscape and will hopefully encourage you to pull your boots on and go explore these places for yourself!

📅 Save the dates:
* Monday 2 November
* Monday 7 December
* January – Date to be confirmed

Come along and enjoy some authentic local natural history with your drink or a meal!

Ian Jackson who will be delivering the talk is a local geologist and author of 5 books about northern landscapes.
