Phew! What a HOT summer we've had!

On one of our recent walks, we saw Kenwyn Church which is absolutely beautiful. It's just across the valley from where we are currently living (while our new house is being built) and we can often hear the church bells. It's not a big church but the stained glass is breathtaking. Well worth a visit!

As we will be minimising our posts on this page, you might like to follow Stephen's continuing artistic adventures on his Instagram page which can be found below. He's been doing some painting at Trebah Gardens, Victoria Park and Boscawen Park in Truro this year. We'll be updating the website to add his new watercolour paintings very soon - watch this space! Living and working on The Fortunate Isles

Well, our last guests in the apartments departed earlier this month, we've just about completed packing our containers and the last one will be departing tomorrow. It's certainly a very strange experience seeing all the rooms we've lived in for 42 years empty and echoing.

We've actually spent the last week living in Serica apartment and enjoying the view!

Tomorrow we are handing over to the new owners of Glandore, Lynn and Jon Churchill, who will look after you all very well in the future. Unfortunately, we have been unable to pass on the 422535 phone number to them so it will disappear into the ether on Saturday when we move. We can pass on any messages to them until their new contact details for the apartments are available.

We leave Glandore and the Isles of Scilly on Saturday for our new life in Truro. We intend to enjoy retirement and finally get round to doing all the things we've not had time for while living and working on Scilly.

Finally we'd like to say a heartfelt thanks to all our lovely guests - it's been a pleasure looking after you on Scilly and making your holidays special.
