Here’s what’s on the calendar:
🚚 Food Truck Festival at Sugar Mountain (May 23rd- Kick off the season with a lineup of local and regional food trucks gathered at the Sugar Mountain ski lodge, 11 AM–7 PM.

🪁 Beech Mountain Mile-High Kite Festival (May 23rd)- Head to the top of the highest incorporated town in the eastern US and watch (or fly!) kites soaring above the clouds.

🎶 Concerts in the Park- Every Thursday evening June through August at Robbins Amphitheater in Tate-Evans Park. Free live music ranging from Southern rock to funk to oldies.

🎆 Star-Spangled Banner Elk (July 4th)- The day kicks off with a classic small-town parade down Main Street at 11 AM, followed by the Party in the Park, the famous Great Duck Race, food, games, and fireworks over Sugar Mountain in the evening.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Grandfather Mountain Highland Games (July 9–12)-America’s grandest Scottish Games return to MacRae Meadows on Grandfather Mountain.
