Dusk at Chanticleer

The pond held its breath last night.

Willows leaned in to listen, the meadows turned to gold, and somewhere past the barn, the sky caught fire — orange bleeding into rose, rose fading into blue.

We didn't say much. There wasn't much to say. Some evenings just ask you to sit still and watch the sky do all the work.
