I love how kids love the outdoors whatever the weather ❤️

Kids remind us there’s no such thing as bad weather when there’s fun to be had outdoors. From woodland walks and muddy adventures to beach days, rock pooling and splashing in the waves - Cornwall really is one big outdoor playground! 🌊

No screens, just fresh air, rosy cheeks and the best childhood memories. And hopefully, all that fresh air and adventure means tired little explorers at bedtime… leaving the grown-ups to enjoy a well earned, peaceful evening.🍷

The perfect Autumn Sunday? A countryside stomp followed by a roast beside a roaring fire 🥾🔥

Insta versus reality.
It’s been a while since we did this nearby creekside walk and it was quite the challenge! We beat our way through overgrown paths, across boggy ground (not surprising after all the rain), climbed over fallen trees and detoured to avoid a section of the route that was underwater at high tide 🙈 Loved seeing the highland cows at the end ❤️ We definitely earned our roast dinner at the cosy Ring O Bells, St Columb Major . Not sure I’d recommend the walk in its current state but happy to share the route if you’d like it - comment ‘stomp’ below and I’ll send you the walk from the iWalk Cornwall website.

Sometimes the wildest weather creates the cosiest moments ❤️

As Storm Austin rolls through Cornwall, there’s nowhere quite like a cosy cottage to hunker down, watch the weather from the warmth of indoors with the sound of the wind and rain outside.

🌳 Tehidy Woods – the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall! 🌿

Covering around 250 acres, with over 9 miles of colour codes paths, peaceful lakes and beautiful wildlife, Tehidy is a wonderful place to escape into nature. 🍃

Rich in history, the woods were once part of the Tehidy Estate, home to the influential Basset family from Norman times until 1916. The landscape reflects centuries of history, with historic plantations, old field boundaries and remnants of the estate to discover.

It’s a lovely spot to explore on foot, enjoy the changing seasons and discover a little more of Cornwall’s heritage. 🌿

📍 Around 25 miles from Merlin Farm at Mawgan Porth — approximately 45–50 minutes by car, depending on the route and traffic. A lovely day out during your stay with us!
